Our Services

• Clients are welcome to come into the client services center at any time during open hours and shop for one half hour.
• All visitors to the center are asked to sign in with name, zip code and number of adults and children they are shopping for.
• Each visitor is asked to limit the goods they select to one paper grocery bag (provided) per visit.

In addition to the primary service of providing goods that are available to walk-in clients, Helping Hands has two outreach programs:

   1. Outreach to Children

• We provide specialized clothing assistance for children in DHS relative foster care and to children whose families are  working with DHS to keep their children at home. Participating families are screened and referred by DHS Marion County Child Welfare workers.
• Helping Hands Resources has a partnership with the Marion County Healthy start program in which newborn layettes are assembled by Helping Hands volunteers and provided to Healthy Start home visitors for delivery to families.
• Helping Hands volunteers put together newborn layettes (for boys and girls) which are given to clients nearing their delivery date.

 2. Outreach to Job Seekers

• Clothes That Work is a special service provided for individuals who are in need of appropriate clothing for job interviews or employment. 

• Clients are referred to this service by partner organizations in the community
• Clients must schedule an appointment with the program coordinator
• Trained volunteers will assist clients in choosing outfits and accessories
• This service is provided free-of- charge
